CELEBRATE THE SPRING
EQUINOX
THE 2004 SOLAR WAVE CEREMONIES &
MAYAN NEW YEAR REPORT
SPRING EQUINOX 2004
Contributed by Aluna Joy
On March 21 2004 we being once again a yearly Mayan cycle where we have the
opportunity to let go of the past and reinvent ourselves to fulfill the
vision we hold inside.
Ancient cultures around the world know and understand the value and importance
of Equinox.
During the Equinox the SUN is equal distance between Northern and Southern
hemispheres and at a mid point between Heaven and Earth.
This position creates a sacred solar cross in the cosmos which emanates
beautiful and harmonious energy that washes over the planet in a wave of
light at sun rise.
When we attune with this wave in a conscious way the power is accelerated.
When we work with this energy in a groups it is multiplied a hundred fold,
but if we work with the wave of the rising sun globally its power to heal,
harmonize, illuminate and create peace is IMMEASURABLE.

Why not let yourself out, get creative and join in on the MAYAN NEW YEAR by
organizing your own SOLAR WAVE ceremonies in your area.
A decade ago I became a cosmic instigator for a global Solar Meditation called
The Solar Wave that takes place every Equinox until 2012!
All ancient cultures around the world know and understand the value and
importance of Equinox.
So it is about time we take to heart that deep wisdom and do something about
the world we live in.
Remember when we work with this energy in groups it is multiplied a hundred
fold, but if we work with the wave of the rising sun globally... its power
to heal, harmonize, illuminate and create peace is IMMEASURABLE.
I invite you, and all your relations, to come together at sunrise in a place
of power of your choice on March 21, 2004, and envision the positive future
we know we deserve.
For our families, communities countries and planet, it is so important that we
do so.

Solstices and Equinoxes
Long observed as important times to harmonize with the solar cycle, the
solstices and equinoxes are now recognized as important times to link up
globally in meditation and celebration.
The exact times of the solstices and equinoxes, which vary each year, are used
for the linkups. The nearest sunrise and sunset to the solstice or equinox
are traditionally marked by meditation and celebration.
The solstice occurs twice a year, in June, when the Sun is furthest north of
the equator, and in December, when the Sun is furthest south of the equator.
In the northern hemisphere the June solstice is the longest day of the year,
while in the southern hemisphere it is the longest night of the year.
In the northern hemisphere the December solstice is the longest night of the
year, while in the southern hemisphere it is the longest day of the year.
Each solstice therefore brings maximum light to one hemisphere, representing
the peak of illumination and vitality, and maximum darkness to the other
hemisphere, representing a time for reflection and consolidation, and a
sense of hope and renewal as the light is about to return.
The equinox also occurs twice a year, in March and September, when the Sun is
directly over the equator and the days and nights are of equal length in
both hemispheres.
The equinoxes can therefore represent a time of balance between light and
dark.
They can also represent a time to either reap the harvest of our actions
(autumn/fall equinox), or nurture the seeds for the future that we have
planted (spring equinox), in preparation for the coming solstice and all
that it represents.
